Manchester University is just 4 miles away. We are also just 20 minutes from Salamonie Reservoir, which seems to be very popular. Fort Wayne is a short drive for big city life if you need a night out and there is a popular winery just 30 minutes away.

I reserved two spots for my birthday online, before doing so I talked with someone there to confirm they had availability. They confirmed. I paid and reserved my spots. Upon arrival they tell me sorry they only have one spot. But still kept half of my money for the other spot that I didn’t get! I also reserved electric sites 20 amp. They gave us an electric site for large volts, you’d have to have an adapter to use what we were provided. I like the location, wish my experience would’ve been better.

Campground Response

Hello, and thank you for coming! I'm extremely sorry for your bad experience. If you can call or email me, I'd love to discuss it more. I need to be aware of these things. However, you had a tent. Why would you need 20 amps? We run on 30 and 50 amps only, so 20 amps is not a term I'm used to. 110 is sufficient for tents, normally. If I'm wrong, please advise. Happy Belated Birthday.

Great camping experience! The staff and the campers were so friendly and welcoming. We found lots of activities in the area and enjoyed the campground sponsored events. We will be back!

Campground Response

Hello! Thank you very much for the positive feedback. It's always nice to have weekenders at our permanent paradise.

Nice, friendly people. Campground appeared well-maintained, clean, and in good working order. I did not use the shower house so not able to comment. Overall, it was a good camping experience and suitable for us for the few nights we needed to stay in the area. We had a site in the back row with water/30 amp; we did need to use 50ft of both hose and extension cord to reach the posts so I am glad we were prepared. The dump did not have any water to flush/clean sewer hose. We were given a choice of sites when we arrived; it was grassy, level, and had some mature trees, but minimal privacy between sites. Travis was a pleasure to work with.

Campground Response

Hi, Donna! We have put a hose back in the dump station area. I'm so sorry it was not there for you and thanks for letting us know. No excuses, but someone hit it with a mower, and it hadn't been replaced yet. My fault! It's also my fault for not figuring out how you can all fit without extension cords. I'm discussing underground options with my electric company. Thank you again for coming.

Great place to camp, quiet after bedtime even on entertainment nights. Seasonal campers were very friendly and Art made sure we had everything we needed. They're still working on improvements but we loved it

Campground Response

Thank you for coming. I hope you saw Art!!!! He's been gone since 2008, but we proudly try to make him stay in conversation and our hearts. Thanks for the compliments and for also, reminding me of my Grandpa, Art! Please come back.

We stayed at Art's for a couple of nights in early September while visiting family who live nearby. It worked out really well for us. We enjoyed being by the pond and had great sunsets, just as Travis had promised we would. It was quiet mid-week and we really enjoyed our stay.

Campground Response

I promise lots of things, but can't always come through. I'm very happy this one did. Thanks for visiting us small folks.

Nice and quiet but no sewer hookup. They did have a honey wagon once each week to pump out tanks.

Campground Response

Hello. No sewage is not correct. Over half of the campground has it, but all of those spots are taken, Generally, the spot you have is meant for a weekender and we have a dump on the way out. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Love coming to Arts, however have been camping 20+ years - NO CAMPGROUNDS CHARGE TO BRING YOUR DOGS

Campground Response

Hi! I didn't realize that we were charging for dogs, so I'll happily get you a credit your account. I spoke to Roverpass about this and many campgrounds do actually charge for dogs. I have changed mine for one at no charge and additional dogs will cost a bit additional. Very sorry, but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

We visited to see a bluegrass band. The band was in the pavilion due to rain and it was a blast! The campground was clean and well maintained and the owner, Travis, and his staff were all very friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit again.

We had a great time. It had been 38 years since I camped there and I couldn't believe how different it looked. The grandkids want to go back soon!

We had a great time. We were pleasantly surprised to see the hayride and trick or treaters. We reserved on line, so I do wish their had been a little bit of human interaction before we arrived. Or maybe an email letting us know of events or what to expect for checking in. We had no idea what to do other than show up at the campground before 7. We loved our spot on "the back street". Everyone we talked to were nice, comfortable people. We can't wait to come back in height of the camping season next year.

We arrived after a terrible time finding the RV park to find that the 50amp hook up was not connecting. The owner said he was sorry and would refund the money to find he did not refund the money. When I called and he hung up on me. The park is dirty as i have ever seen. The pitts the 4 start rattling has to be his wife give this rating. Never stay here!

Campground Response

We are very easy to find and I am sorry that you didn’t follow any of the directions I gave you over the phone and literally drove by it twice while we were on the phone. Not only did I offer you another site without looking at your electrical, my electrician looked at it when you left and it was fine. We even had someone else pull in later that night and used that outlet and it worked just fine. I did not hang up on you. I was in a bad area and we dropped, but there was no more for me to say. I’m not refunding anything that isn’t my fault. As for the park being dirty, I’ll take that as a blunt lie because you are not getting refunded and just want to try to hurt our ratings. The park is beautiful and very well maintained. I’m sorry that you were just impossible to work with. Take care and safe travels! Oh, and I'm not married so the reviews are real!

Need more things for kids, as for me it’s GREAT

Campground Response

Thanks for the review. We have a playground, basketball, fishing, swings, and of course swimming. WE also have Friday night kid movies! Not sure what else a kid could want?

Everyone was so nice and accommodating! It was our first time there, although I knew the campground’s namesake personally from years ago when I was a student at Manchester College. Now that our son’s at Manchester, we look forward to staying at Art’s again and again. The folks at Art’s have kept his legacy going, and I’m sure he’d be proud.

Campground Response

Thanks, Chris. You knew Art when he worked security at the College? Grandpa was one of a kind and I'm proud to be able to keep his name on the signs! Thanks for visiting and for the kind words.
